Bret Hutchinson, P.Eng

President, Mechanical Engineer: Bret has been providing mechanical engineering services in Prince George, BC since 2008; he is a professional engineer registered with APEGBC (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC). Bret is a Mechanical Engineer that has worked as both an engineering consultant and industrial construction project manager. This enables Bret to understand how to solve analytical problems, recognize regulatory requirements, and contribute practical solutions to technical problems in an efficient manner. Bret’s previous experiences include engineering design, procurement, cost estimation, and construction management of industrial equipment and piping installations. His problem solving and people management skills allow him to quickly find the best solutions for our clients, motivate team members, and constantly find new ways to be more efficient in everything we do.

Jim Mooney, Senior Mechanical Technologist, Prince George

Jim Mooney

Senior Mechanical Technologist: Jim joined Earth Fire Energy in October 2016. After receiving a Diploma in Engineering Design Technology from the College of New Caledonia in 1998, Jim has worked extensively in the forest, pulp and paper, sawmill, and mining industries, specializing in pressure piping, pump and drive layout, vessels, conveyor systems, and structural steel.  Jim’s previous experiences include site evaluations and field investigations; concept layout and detailed design; as well as training and mentorship for junior team members.  The projects have been completed for a variety of clients, including Canfor Pulp, Chemtrade Logistics, Linden Fabricating, Wolftek Industries, Peace River Coal, FMC Canada, Diavik Diamond Mine, and many other industrial clients.  Jim has a wealth of experience and a dedication to hard work that is an asset to our team at Earth Fire Energy.

Dustin Hubner, Mechanical Engineer, Prince George

Dustin Hubner, EIT

Mechanical Engineer in Training: After graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2016, Dustin aspired to find valuable work experience in his field of study – mechanical engineering. In January 2017, he began his journey towards becoming a Professional Engineer by joining Earth Fire Energy and registering as an EIT with APEGBC. Dustin is committed to not only seeking out new information for the sake of continuous learning, but also to absorb as much as he can from his mentors within the organization. His previous experience as a wildland firefighter refined his ability to work hard as a team player and focus on the importance of safety in the workplace. Dustin’s dedication to learning and strong work ethic will allow him to evolve into an integral part of the Earth Fire Energy team.

Cristina Hutchinson, Civil Engineer, Prince George

Cristina Hutchinson, P.Eng

Project Manager, Civil Engineer: Cristina has been working as a Civil Engineer focusing on municipal works in Prince George, BC since graduating in 2008. Cristina is a Professional Engineer registered with APEGBC. Cristina’s previous experiences include engineering design, project management, procurement, cost estimation, contract administration, and construction management of residential and community water and wastewater systems. Cristina has worked on engineering projects for the City of Prince George, Canfor Pulp, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG), along with many other clients.  She also has experience in road and bridge design and construction for the forestry and resource sector, and managing crews to complete field work. Cristina has extensive experience with construction inspection.  Cristina has a genial and confident nature, skilled at assisting clients with their systems and services.

Adam Hutchinson, Geothermal and Septic Installer, Prince George

Adam Hutchinson

Geothermal Installer, Septic Installer, Journeyman RV Technician: Adam is a Journeyman RV Technician, Septic Installer, and Geothermal Installer, focusing on projects in Prince George and Quesnel. His previous experiences include diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems for recreational vehicles. Adam is able to install both geothermal and onsite sewage disposal systems. His trade skills make him a practical addition to Earth Fire Energy’s team.
