Bret Hutchinson, P.Eng
President, Mechanical Engineer: Bret has been providing mechanical engineering services in Prince George, BC since 2008; he is a professional engineer registered in Alberta and British Columbia. Bret is a Mechanical Engineer that has worked as both an engineering consultant and industrial construction project manager. This enables Bret to understand how to solve analytical problems, recognize regulatory requirements, and contribute practical solutions to technical problems in an efficient manner. Bret’s previous experiences include engineering design, procurement, cost estimation, and construction management of industrial equipment and piping installations. His problem solving and people management skills allow him to quickly find the best solutions for our clients, motivate team members, and constantly find new ways to be more efficient in everything we do.

Justin Desmarais, EIT
Mechanical Engineer: Justin is a mechanical engineer who graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2016. In the summer of 2015, Justin worked for Decor Cabinets, a cabinet manufacturing company, where he independently produced and managed design requirements on two projects for the quality assurance department, one of which required CNC machining. Before joining EFE, Justin worked for a construction company, producing specifications and communicating with vendors to ensure a quality product, supporting design verification and production in the field, as well as assisting with the planning, coordinating, and execution of projects. Justin is thrilled to be bringing his hands-on experience to EFE and having the opportunity to learn and grow within a professional environment.

Jaden Tupper, EIT
Mechanical Engineer: Jaden is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Alberta in 2020. During his undergrad, Jaden worked three of his co-op terms in the construction industry, gaining field experience and developing his communication and organizational skills. During his last placement with PCL Construction in Calgary, AB, Jaden developed work packages, coordinated onsite installation of mechanical equipment, conducted safety audits, and performed various field measurements and quantity analysis to assist the team. Jaden is excited to bring his positivity and competitive drive to our team, and to grow and develop his technical skills as an engineer.

Cristina Hutchinson, P.Eng
Project Manager, Civil Engineer: Cristina has been working as a Civil Engineer focusing on municipal works in Prince George, BC since graduating in 2008. Cristina is a Professional Engineer registered with APEGBC. Cristina’s previous experiences include engineering design, project management, procurement, cost estimation, contract administration, and construction management of residential and community water and wastewater systems. Cristina has worked on engineering projects for the City of Prince George, Canfor Pulp, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG), along with many other clients. She also has experience in road and bridge design and construction for the forestry and resource sector, and managing crews to complete field work. Cristina has extensive experience with construction inspection. Cristina has a genial and confident nature, skilled at assisting clients with their systems and services.
